I guess this is somehow called "backward compatibility". If you can
compile successfully on oracle 8, then you must can do it the same on
ora 9. Yet if compile successfully on 9, it maybe not supported on 8.



Check on the manual, see do you use any feature only supported on 9
but not on 8?
