Actually, now is a good time to buy "value" stocks. Stocks that have good fundamentals and have been dragged down by the flight to bonds and pay dividends. Note that group doesn't include Oracle. Note that "good time" implies a long term investment.

Mere technical back-end superiority is not the criteria for a database (or most any other kind of software) vendors success in most any given vertical market.
