You cannot get a useful answer, I am afraid. How bit is the Sun box? How big is the Linux box? Processor?

In terms of stability I hear that there is no difference. Systems Mgmt. in terms of Oracle is the same, of course.

Using RAC you could string several Intel boxes together for a fraction of the price of a Sun box, but the technology for it is a bit different from what you are probably used to.
