Best Practices for Oracle on EVAs

Does anyone have experience with running Oracle on Compaq/HPs new EVAs (Enterprise Virtual Array)? We'll have 30x72GB drives for use with Oracle and SAS. My assumption is we'll create 3 pools, 1 for Oracle, 1 for SAS data/work space, and 1 for the o/s and application code. Within the Oracle pool, I'm not sure how many Vraid-x sets to make. Does it even make sense to create more than 1, since by definition all i/o will be spread across all devices in a pool? Does it then make sense to have a vraid-1 for redo and x number of vraid-5 sets for all other datafiles? Received on Fri Nov 15 2002 - 10:14:54 CST
