Great response.

Deals with all the issues, and demonstrates your intrinsic mastery of the techincal issues. I have absolutely no doubt, based on this reply, that you have complete knowledge of, and master over, the Oracle architecture.

Just a bit of a shame you couldn't quite work out the difference between a dispatcher and a server process.

But I'm sure that's of no consequence when you have a teddy bear collection to look after, and a mere oversight on your part.

Listen Karsten: I didn't reduce this to personal issues. You were the one that reduced it to the "did you wake up on the wrong side of bed" factor. Either you know the difference between a statically configured dispatcher and a dynamically-spawned server process or you don't. Your choice. If you want to go down the "I've been beaten by better men than you" route, be my guest... I'm not trying to "beat" you, just trying to be accurate. You can beat Superman for all I care... just be accurate about Oracle whilst you're doing it.

Alternatively, just admit you got it stark staringly bonkers wrong, and all is done with.

OK?
