In answer to earlier post we have 8.1.7.x and will probbably be upgrading this on etoo in the near future. Just trying to debug this one first.
We have /etc/system set yes as per oracle guidelines and nothing really in the listener logs. /tmp is not full.
We have various instances on this machine and so setting the instance is required to administer each one at each time.
