For me, 9iR2EE installed fine on XP Pro. Client, Server, Starter DB, the whole works.
However, a separate install of the Client (from the Client CD) on a separate XP installation, fell over miserably on some stupid tempdir problem. My workaround was to install the Client from the *server* CDs.
