Is Oracle leaning toward Linux? Hard to say. Linux hasn't really penetrated the corporate world (in spite of what the Penquin says). Like most software vendors, I think Oracle will continue to gravitate toward the O/S that has the most number of installations. I don't have the statistics, but I suspect there are more Solaris boxes running Oracle than Linux boxes ... but my crystal ball gets pretty foggy when I try to peer into the future.

Who knows? Since the Board of Directors voted down a bonus check for Larry Ellison this year, maybe he'll be looking at the OpenSource world a little closer. But hey, you can get all kinds of predictions about the direction Oracle is going by reading the trade pubs ... and they can't agree. Probably count(predictions) = count(people_making_them).
