On Linux setting the LOCK_SGA parameter will raise an error because the oracle software user doesn't have permission to own the memory segment, only root does. The only way to get round this is use a tool such as LIDS (http://www.lids.org) to allow oracle to own the segment from within the kernel. see whether using such a tool is supported.
