A few years ago, i had a problem with a customers database. Most probably due to lightning strokes the SCSI RAID cache controller in the database server did not longer work properly. We had a lot of troube to find the source of our problems, because only Oracle told us sometimes to have errors in regard to its files (checksums etc). Therefore we assumed to have some kind of software error. But after changing the SCSI controller everything was fine.
