Hi,

Is there a way to format or otherwise summarize information from a .TRC file that is created when a problem occurs?

I'm not talking about using TKPROF after I have explain Planned a SQL statement with Times Statistics as that is for a specific SQL statement. These .TRC files, which end up in my UDUMP directory, look like this:

Dump file C:\Oracle\admin\#$%^&\udump\ORA01228.TRC Tue Oct 08 15:22:58 2002
ORACLE V8.1.6.0.0 - Production vsnsta=0
vsnsql=e vsnxtr=3
Windows 2000 Version 5.0 Service Pack 2, CPU type 586 Oracle8i Release 8.1.6.0.0 - Production
JServer Release 8.1.6.0.0 - Production
Windows 2000 Version 5.0 Service Pack 2, CPU type 586 Instance name: %^&*$
Redo thread mounted by this instance: 1

Oracle process number: 41

Windows thread id: 1228, image: ORACLE.EXE

According to Oracle Docs, a utility called DUMPFMT exists on most systems to format this dump file, but I cannot locate this program.

I'm on Oracle8i Release 8.1.6.0.0 - Production Windows 2000

TIA,
Mark
