shutdown a PQ slave

Hi NG,

recently we had a problem with 1 PQ-Slave (#4). It constantly produced Ora-600 errors. Unfortunately, parallel_min_servers was 10 and parallel_max_servers 20, so a reboot was required.

I wonder, whether there is a save and supported way to get rid of a pq-slave and get it restartet as needed. Something like 'alter system shutdown server...', which works with MTS.

How about "kill session" or unix-kill? Is it save? Supported? Which one?

We are running 9.2 on HP-UX, but I'm also interested in 8.x both on unix and windows.

TIA
