Thanks for your help. We have found out that there was a problem with Oracle's case-sensitiveness. When dealing with specific data types, like VARRAYS, the statements have to be written in upper cases in the JAVA code. That solved the problem. Nevertheless, I have always thougt, that Oracle is not case-sensitive...
