I'm doing a full day tutorial on how the Cost Based Optimizer works at UKOUG this year - you might enjoy it, it's six solid hours of CBO - and it might give you some important clues.

It's a relatively small charge if you are already a member of the UKOUG.

I'm also planning to take it out on the road next year, as the class size at UKOUG will be very small.
