What version of ORACLE are you using? I have heard people complaining about exp/imp materialized views with different versions of ORACLE. With 9i release 2 MV names do show up in USER_MVIEWS after import. However the entries in user_registered_snapshots are gone. If you define the MVs to refresh on a regular basis, either fast or complete, you will find they are no longer working since all the entries in the user_jobs are gone after import. I would say if the MVs are eazy to create, just recreate them after import. If the MVs contains large amount of data and take a while to build, try using the "on Prebuilt table" clauze. I have not done exhaustive test on this though. Too many scenarios with MVs exp/imp, partitioning for example.
