I had exactly the same problem two weeks ago. It is a problem with the W2K domain authentication and is a bug in oracle.
There is not yet a solution, but a workaround: In your sqlnet.ora you must change the line SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES
from NTS to NONE.
If the line is not there then include it.
