Oracle 9i DBA certification ( upgrade from 8i ) requirement

Currently Oracle requires atleast one instructor-led training class as a requirement for Oracle 9i DBA certification. However, it looks like there are some exceptions.

Is it true that One who has finished 8i DBA crertification track can become 9i certified by simply taking the 9i-upgrade (New features for administrators ) test without having to go through the training process ?

If anyone has gone through this process or will soon go though the process of
taking Oracle9i upgrade ( new features for admnistrators - 1z0-030), please share your information/understanding on this.
