Dogmatically following a rule is pointless as we all know there are exceptions. What you state Tanel is a fact of DBA life. Your end user's don't care about the purity of the setup, they want their data and that's all there is to it. You have to balance purity with their needs and do what's best.

What you listed sounds to me to be a good balance.
