Hi Stan,



Have a search on this group for 4031 errors, i suspect it has been
done to death.



The fragmentation error is not at the OS level, it is Oracle's shared
pool which has become fragmented.


If the db has been up for all those months it has just taken time to hit
the fragmented error -> need to see what is/has been running on the db.



Have a search first though as there should be lots of answers to this.
