Thanks for responses. I am still struggling with this. The production database is A-ok; no problems there; The boss wants to know why one of the archive logs went bad.

Strangely, dbv comes back clean on the datafile where the 3 corrupted tables are residing. The only thing I can think of is that the archive logs are being applied from an NFS mounted file system.. Is that a possible cause for corruption of one of the 60 odd arch logs?

OS: HPUX 11.0
Oracle 8.0.5
