ora-01001 error

hi,
I have a pro C file with i am able to work with in Oracle 8i. I used the same ProC file and generated the exe and run the application in Oracle 9i envirnment. Here in Oracle 9i , i am getting the error ORA-01001: invalid cursor .
What the oracle document says is to correct the Cursor , Or increase the values of Pre-compiler options MAXOPENCURSORS and AREASIZE.
But the problem is not with the cursor and MAXOPENCURSORS, and AREASIZE is a depricated option after Oracle 7 and PRO C 2.

Any help in this regard is highly appreciated.
