We are not monitoring the number and/or concurrency of users. We are controlling the installation and usage of the database schema (and its associated applications) as a "product". Which will run on the database as a "product".

You are absolutely right. If it were that simple, I could just use the database.

The business requirement is to sell trial and permanent copies of the application and schema which will be managed by license keys. So far, GlobeTrotter, Aladdin and iFOR/LS are candidates for this but I wanted to gather ideas from others also. My main concern is how to enforce restriction when the license expires without modifying all of the associated applications.
At this point, if I restrict access to the database, it can always be changed by the customer's DBA who has the 'system' password. If I drop the schema, then we are liable for loss of the customer's data in the schema. Don't want that either. Any ideas?

Thanks
