Any reason why you set your compatibilty parameter to 8.x for a 9.x database?

You should have set your compatibility parameter to 9.0.3.0.0 for the original database.

Not sure how you reached the conclusion that it had something to do with your redo log file when the error above clearly refers to your compatibility parameter.

Your database is probably hosed with all the upgrades and downgrades. Install 9.2 and recreate your database with compatible = 9.0.3.0.0
