Anyone who would make a decision like that based on cost alone without doing any testing or other evaluation deserves to have it come crashing down around them. I'm not pointing fingers at you, but at the management making the decision.

Maybe they need to measure that 3 million in licensing savings against the cost of converting, including training the existing Oracle people, downtime, consultants for the conversion, etc....

I was with a company that went to Oracle Apps for finance. Cost them lots of money to do so. Then the company shrank in size, really didn't need anything that big. BUT, the cost of moving to something else was more than the cost of sticking with Oracle.
