You may be in luck. Look up ORACLE Change Data Capture (CDC) - if you
are using 9i. CDC is specifically designed with ETL in mind. It is
based on a publish-subscribe model. My limited testing showed it is
quite easy to use. You only have to deal with a handful of ORACLE
packages. How much overhead it places on your data source and if it is
appropriate for your environment, you will have to find out for
yourself.
