I thought that the logic was that terminal releases of a product had a longer lifetime than ordinary releases. I'm pretty sure this applied to 8.0.6 vs 8.1.5 as well for example.

We don't have milk bottles much in the UK anymore either (though they've not been universally replaced). I have to put out bread to attract the little birdies for my cats to eat now. :-(
