Alright so I definitely won't try to do a simultaneous switch.

This brings up the next question: would you recommend doing the version upgrade first and then the platform change, or do the platform change first and then the version upgrade. The question may be moot since I can't find Oracle 7.x for linux anyway.

So assuming I will be doing the version upgrade first and then the platform change, is exp/imp the recommended way to load the data onto the new platform? Received on Mon Aug 12 2002 - 13:41:11 CDT
