Hi There,

The Data Gather is a process that gathers performance statistics that are used by various OEM tools (such as Capacity Planner, Performance Manager).

Just out of curiosity, I performed a quick search of Data Gather in the Oracle Documentation set. It found 463 topics in 16 books. It's all in there :)

Probably the place to start would be the OEM guide and the Intelligent Agent Guide.
