Hi Patrick,

Why won't your database start ?

It doesn't matter when your last backup was taken, so long as you have all the redo logs generated since then, you can fully recover your database.

If it's a particular file that it's complaining about, you can always take it offline (providing it's not SYSTEM) at the mount stage and start the DB without it (and either recover or drop it later).
