Hi
I install 9.0.1 on my desktop sun ultra5. I try to only install the basic options I need. The size is about 2G, which is huge. Then I search files whose size is bigger than 10M. Ammongst them, I think the following are useless to me. Let's see the two *.dfj, the total size of them is 600M. After backup, I remove them. The database looks fine.
351656000 ./9.0.1/assistants/dbca/templates/Data_Warehouse.dfj 247842427 ./9.0.1/assistants/dbca/templates/Transaction_Processing.dfj
13953939 ./9.0.1/ord/Annotator/media_data/oow_annotator.mov 55180902 ./9.0.1/demo/schema/sales_history/sh_sales.dat 37766593 ./9.0.1/ctx/data/enlx/droldUS.dat 23024986 ./9.0.1/ctx/data/frlx/droldF.dat
The following are my questions.
1. What are those files for? 2. Is it possible to avoid from installing them? If possible, how? 3. What is the smallest size of 9i, if I only need to basic databasefunctions (no Apache, tuning package, OEM, ...)? (I remember 8.0.5 was only 300M)
Thanks,
Bin
