Let people look at my data while I'm exporting it? never I tell you. !

OK maybe that's a reasonable alternative as well.

 OR make sure you have large rollback segments don't bother with any of this and export with consistent=y then import. If people say 'but data that I put in the system is missing' you can say 'ah you put it in after the final export of the system so you will just have to re-enter all over again.' You can cackle insanely if the fancy takes you as well.
