Yes. it changed. some statements may indeed generate different plans.
Most people here who have upgraded have sometimes been pleasantly or unpleasantly surprised by this.
This is the same whether 817 ->92 or 805 ->817. Keep going on the upgrade !
go to 9.2 and be current ...
have you all the 817 patches ?
ORA980 means there's something missing
