response files for install

I am a doing the basic Oracle 8i db install and using a response file
to make the install "hands free".
I have a couple of questions.

I am able to get almost everything taken care of with a response file except the location of your Java SDK . It defaults to /usr/local/java/java1.2.2 . I did not see a section in the response files for a value for this. Is there a environment variable that I should set in the profile of the user running the runInstall script?

Also, during the install , it asks to run the root.sh script. Can this be run after the install?

You can just e-mail me if you want.

TIA /markt
