Hi again Alan,

The ORA_NLS33 variable is used to point Oracle to the location of all the NLS data (generally in ORACLE_HOME/ocommon/nls/admin/data).

If you point ORA_NLS33 incorrectly, them Oracle will not be able to retrieve the necessary NLS data and you'll get ORA-30201 errors as a result.

I don't have any 8.0.6 doco at hand but it's my understanding that ORA_NLS33 was used for 8, 8i and 9i (ORA_NLS32 goes back to 7 ?). But I could be wrong here.
