Well, I'm of the opinion that if something is wrong in our industry, we the interested parties FIX IT. Instead of accepting and shutting up just because it's "convenient". That's what makes this sort of bullshit stick and become unwritten "law". When all it really is is just another Oracle money grab.
And with all due respect to Pete Sharman and others like him who I'm sure had the highest ideals when this whole thing got started, I've never once seen it for anything else other than just a blatant exercise in revenue raising.
Don't have the slightest problem in accepting a certification scheme in this industry. What I completely refuse to do is accept one that is tied to a specific release of software. It reeks of M$ crap. And I don't have to take it. Never did, never will.
