And when you go to the doctor because you have a strange lump and you are worried about what it is. Or you go to hospital because you have a pain in your chest radiating down your left arm ... you are going to look for someone with no experience actual experience but who passed the state medical exam with a cram book?
Somehow I doubt it.
Why should our profession be any different.

PS: Feel free to substitute IRS audit and an accountant for the above. Or design
a 70 story office building an architect for the above. Or impacted wisdom teeth
and dentist for the above. Or any other profession that pays roughly similar
wages to ours. We are the only profession I think of where people expect $100K
per year and to be able to hack around without consequences.
