The OakTable group recently had a very impressive demonstration of RACing (if that's a verb -Oh well, it is now. OED... here I come!!) 10 Linux laptops together. If I've read my email correctly, they couldn't RAC 11 of them together, because there's an issue with Oracle whereby the 11th joining causes the 1st to drop out (something like that, anyway).

Whether this is an inherent limitation of RAC on all platforms, or whether it's just a Linux thing, I couldn't say (but someone will!). On the other hand, you might be thinking that a 10-way RAC is way too big for the projects you have in mind, so what the heck?!
