I guess the issue here is more importantly the "Front-end" vs
"Back-end" type IT positions.
Front-end ones are more "Developer" or "Analyst" types they are also
more "visible" !! and maybe hence less immune to layoffs ( as some
postings suggested )
Back-end ones are the DBA or "Sys Admin/System manager" types and less
visible. Only visible when something breaks.. So the "ignorant
manager" (per postings here) thinks they are not as important !!!
