Mr. Hoffmann is without any doubt discussing developers who don't WANT the
advice of a DBA, because they know EVERYTHING better (at least they think
so).
'Better communications' isn't going to address their arrogant attitude.
Believe me, I have met the species quite of lot of times. Most often those
self-appointed gurus were completely incompetent, and keen on getting the
highest salary and the most expensive lease-car.
