I'm not aware of any security problems with synonyms. Do William Heney and Marlene Theriault's Oracle security books say anything?

BTW, while I search on Steve Adams' site for synonyms and security, I come across additional notes about synonym performance issues (http://www.ixora.com.au/q+a/library.htm 10 February 2000 Q&A). Interesting read!
