Guys,

I have seen this questions posted on several Oracle-related forums, including technet, but no solutions. It affects a number of Oracle 9i users on Windows2000 and XP.

Every time I connect to database using SID (e.g. connect scott/tiger_at_db1), the listener crashes with error "TNSLSNR.EXE has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program".

If the SID is excluded e.g. if I connect as scott/tiger, things work fine.

The listener's log shows the following:

"13-JUN-2002 20:12:22 *

(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVICE_NAME=DB1)(CID=(PROGRAM=G:\oracle\ora90\bin\sqlplus.ex e)(HOST=SASHA)(USER=Administrator))) *
(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)(HOST=213.122.44.185)(PORT=1631)) * establish * DB1 * 0
"

OS is Windows 2000 SP2 and the database is version 9.0.1.1.1

Anyone had similar problem?

Many thanks Received on Thu Jun 13 2002 - 14:10:59 CDT
