RMAN restore

Hi,
a quick (and hopefully easy), question.

When recovering a database in RMAN (8.1.7.3), what order does RMAN attempt to fetch the logs ? Is it:

1. Find logs in log_archive_dest, and if not there,
2. Find in recent backupset
