Thanks all for the excellent advice. We ended up reloading from backup because some of the tablespace datafiles were corrupt. The machine had an uptime of 247 days; perhaps I should schedule a reboot every now and then to clear the cobwebs out. As for the memory leak, we already had 81701; is there something newer to apply?
