I doubt you will find "figures" unless you get them from Sun or HP. I wouldn't even bother benchmarking an application on Windows and UNIX. If I have a choice I always go with UNIX and the reason has nothing to do with performance though that is an additional benefit. The reason for UNIX is the same as the reason I choose Oracle over Access or SQL Server.

I call it the "Three S's."

1) Stability
2) Security
3) Scalability
