pslql web example wtd: select from and update any table / tuple

I've come across sample code on other platforms which allow you to choose a table and then perform selects and updates. This would be useful as I have over a dozen similar (ish) tables holding reference data which would benefit from web based maintainance, a generic script would be adequate and a big time saver.
