Yes, I DID RTFM, semaphores, shared memory and other stuff are Ok (BTW, changing those parameter is a real pain in the XXX since you have to hunt them down in the various .h files).

Note: I've installed Oracle on Linux Red Hat, Slackware, Mandrake, on Solaris, AIX and other Unix flavours, and never had any problem. This is the first time I'm stuck!
