O Lord. Anything but that one. I've just been reading it for the first time... it's just plain *awful*. Niemiec gets it wrong with practically every paragraph (overstating somewhat, but it's a dreadful, dreadful book).

Jonathan Lewis' Practical Oracle 8i for me, and Tom Kyte's Expert 1 on 1. Not ultra low-level, but accurate.
