Hi,
A question I am struggling with myself.
I am not sure that it is a good idea to put online/archived redo etc on to
a RAID 5 stripe. Advice I have read is still to put these items on to dedicated mirrored disk pairs. But what if the smallest disk you have is 32Gb, a 100 Mb online redo file on a 32Gb disk all by it's self!

I still thik with Oracle you have to try and dedicate disks to online redo and archived redo, but the rest can go onto to some kind of RAID. Then look at what sort of cache you have in front of the disk unit(s) and how best to set that up for your application.

Regards

Pete
