Hi,
We are implenting IBM's Enterprise Storage Server using Raid 5. We have an Oracle database, approx 300GB and have 4 8 disk packs to spread out over.

Traditionally I am used to putting redo logs, rollbacks segments etc. over single disks to spread the I/O. Is this type of action now redundant such that I should not worry - just let the system manage the raid and disks and I simply use space as needed.

tia
