V$sql and v$sqlarea seems very similar, when I look into v$fixed_view_de finition, I found that v$sqlarea use a lot of sum, it gives me the impression that v$sqlarea is a sum of v$sql, but when I select against those two views, it gives me the same results in terms of executions, loads, etc.

I am very confused here.

Any suggestions?
